I am addicted to this Presidential campaign. I watch all the different news channels and attempt to get all the perspectives. However, I am having difficulty, even after making it through all the nonsense--the bickering and popularity contests. I am having difficulty finding information on the actual issues the candidates support. The debates are filled with social graces, but not social topics and the frustration of politeness is wearing on this newly interested political activist. I want answers; I want to be able to make the most informed decision. Yet, I find myself being swept up in the petty bullshit, only because of the constant bombardment by the media with the latest ridiculous sound bites being played over and over again. Usually the candidate’s comment is completely out of context, and completely irrelevant to the candidate’s platform. So, I shut my TV off. I stopped watching You-Tube or looking at Yahoo’s headlines. It’s impossible to trust any news source that headlines Brittany’s return to the hospital above and before that of the Presidential campaign for “America.” I sound like Barack Obama right now. His voice echoes in my head with the word “America” and the way he says the word, with such verve and reverb. Even with all the experts out there commenting, I figure I can only trust myself. I will not be taken in by a candidate’s appearance, name, or from whom they seek religious guidance (the fact that they even have a religious leader bothers me more than what that religious leader would say), and surely not from the mouths of jaded broadcasters. Instead I turned to a silly Internet quiz to ask myself some questions on the issues. The quiz seems no more accurate than any polls being reported… and I was surprised by what I found out and with whom I share the most similar ideas with! You may want to quiz yourself. If anything, the quiz made me research the candidates further. Follow the link below to find out what you really think-- not what you are being fed to think.
