“The Big Cover-Up.” The runway
models are completely covered,
necklines are higher, dresses
are longer and legs are
"painted." The trend is reminiscent of the eighties, very matchy, matchy… Yet sparing us from the signature neon of that decade. Some designers coordinate the hosiery with the hard-to-find hues and patterns of the season, creating a complete monochromatic chic. Growing up in California, I never liked tights. In my fashion world, and as a ballerina, wearing tights meant work. As an adult, I find them extremely uncomfortable and restricting, as if my legs need air! But, if you love tights… here’s to you, you Fashionista! You will be the most uncomfortable woman, yet the toast of the editors this season! And for those of you that love their legs, and can "bare" it…go for the highest boots you can find and FAKE it! Not only will you remain breezy and "in season," but you will probably get the award for the sexiest too, especially sporting that “boots-up-to-there" style. The looks can be a bit boring with head-to-toe color and cover-up. Let’s at least leave a little room to play in, if you know what I mean!
